The Old Palace
A simply stunning wedding venue with a history to match. Henry VIII acquired the Palace from the Bishop of Ely in 1538 and used it as a nursery for his three children. It is one of the foremost examples of medieval brickwork in the country and originally formed a quadrangle around a central courtyard. The remaining wing contains the Banqueting Hall, with most of its original roof timbers which is what you see today and known as the Old Palace. A historic venue − most famous for hosting Queen Elizabeth I’s first council of state – its medieval brickwork, beautiful wall hangings and stunning gardens make it a perfect setting and a fairytale wedding venue.
The Riding School
The recently refurbished Riding School building can be found within the beautifully designed Stable Yard. Once a school where horsemanship was taught and practiced, this building seamlessly blends historic features with modern architecture to offer an exceptionally fashionable alternative. Its glass roof with retracting blinds allows the room to be flooded with natural light at the touch of a finger whilst the mezzanine level transforms this open plan building into two levels adding diversity to this exceptional venue.
